VASEP: Evaluation of The Program "Seafood Enterprises Commit to Combat IUU Fishing" After (04) Four Years of Implementation (22-11-2021)
The Seafood Enterprise Program committed to combating IUU fishing was launched and established on September 25, 2017 under the VASEP Seafood Committee with the participation of seafood businesses across the country.
Over the last four years, businesses in the program have implemented and coordinated with other agencies a variety of activities to combat illegal fishing (IUU) and fix the European Yellow Card warning, with the coordination of the IUU-VASEP Executive Board.
The IUU-VASEP Executive Board will hold a conference on "Evaluating 04 years of executing the Program " Seafood Enterprises Commit to Combat IUU Fishing" in order to analyze the obtained accomplishments, the strategy to be executed and coordinated in 2021 and in the future period. Zoom software is used to host an online conference. The event will take place on October 23, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (Saturday).
Participants included representatives from the Directorate of Fisheries, the Coast Guard Command, the Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (NAFIQAD), the Department of Animal Health, the Provincial Fisheries Sub-Departments, the Management Board Fishing ports of the provinces; member enterprises of the Seafood Enterprise Program commit to combat IUU fishing.
The conference is intended to cover the following topics: The Seafood Enterprise Program's operational results in fighting IUU fishing from 2020 to 2021, with a strategy for 2022; The state of seafood exports to the EU over the last four years (2017-2021) and an assessment of the IUU Yellow Card's impact; Vietnam's IUU Yellow Card situation at the current.
